 The University of California at Los Angeles is certainly
one of the most presitigious campuses in the world. It has edcuated a boundless list of top professionals in every major
human endeavor including film making and acting. It does, however, require excellent academic background and well above
average SAT scores to be admitted. The tuition is substantial and the program runs about four years for the BFA and
another couple of years for the MFA degree. It also offers a done right gourgeous campus, amazing weather and a chance

 The University of Southern California is the other top
school in Los Angeles, California. Which is best generally depends on which one you or your child went to. It
too offers superb preparation for the performing arts but does tend to emphasize film. Just to name two of their illustrious
alma mater consider Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas and there many more. But as with UCLA, USC has demanding academic
requirements and can be very expensive. Also the basic Bachelor program runs four years and you can add another couple

 Compared to either UCLA or USC the New York Film Academy
is the new kid on the block. It is also not a state school It is rather a for profit degree granting educational
institution focused exclusively on acting and film making. It has several campuses literally around the world but its
two main campuses are in New York City and remarkably on the Universal Studios back lot. New York Film Academy offers
intense instruction including various programs for teens and young adults. Its main curriculum is both an acclerated
3 year program leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Masters program that can be completed in under two years.

it has earned a superb reputation in the film making community as well. As with all top end schools admission requirements

 Don't want or can't afford the major insitutions of
higher learning, then you might consider SECOND CITY with its 50 year reputation for excellence. Yes, it is focused
on comedy but the improv skills they teach have long proven to be a huge asset to all serious actors. CLICK ON LOGO
